The MLW Series is a 4-in-1 handheld fiber laser welder performing laser welding, cutting, weld-seam cleaning and derusting in a single unit. Half the size of the previous generation with four-way casters and a handle for easy movement; it welds at many angles and joins dissimilar metals, 50%+ faster than conventional welding, and is operable after just a few hours of training.

Welding techniques

  • Autogenous laser welding: high-power beam melts metal that reflows and solidifies; needs tight fit or minimal gap
  • Filler laser welding: same-material wire fed in to fill gaps for higher strength; ideal for gapped joints

Five factors for weld quality

  • Laser power (deep penetration only above the energy-density threshold)
  • Welding speed (too fast = shallow, too slow = burn-through)
  • Focus distance (positive/negative focus affects width & depth)
  • Weld width (spot too small/large both harmful)
  • Wire-feed speed (must match welding speed)

Intuitive control system

The touch interface shows current welding parameters and real-time alarms. A red indicator lights when the laser is active; the safety lock is grey normally and turns green when the head contacts the workpiece. Default welding mode is continuous, switchable to spot welding.

What power supply, gas and cooling does the MLW need?

The MLW-1500W and MLW-2000W run on single-phase 220V 50/60Hz with 10 L water cooling; the MLW-3000W uses three-phase 380V 50/60Hz with 15 L water cooling. The welding assist gas is argon or nitrogen at up to 15 bar, with wire diameters of 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm.
